Luang Prabang is the gastronomic capital of Laos. Here, the food is an Art; for sure Luang Prabang's gastronomy is the most unique, rich, varied, surprisingly food of Laos.

This fact comes from a long time ago, when Luang Prabang was the capital of the kingdom. Since then, Luang Prabang kept preciously its gastronomy "old fashion", half way from civilisation and the luxurious jungle.

Our cook is the daughter of a cook, whose parents were both cooks at the royal kitchen, so it is long tradition is this family to strictly respect the roots of the Lao gastronomy known by only few families. That's why maybe our cook wants to keep her secrets...





Why Galanga ? What is Galanga ?

Galanga, also called "blue ginger", is well known in Laos for its rhizomes, and used very commonly in the preparation of Lao meals; more than that, this root is not only a delicate exotic tasty ingredient but also a medical plant with a lot of healing powers. Galanga has something special, a kind of magic...
